Cruise lines are shuffling their Bermuda itineraries to avoid the path of Tropical Storm Bertha.
Norwegian Cruise Line postponed the Norwegian Majesty’s Bermuda stop from Monday to Tuesday to avoid the storm. NCL also said that the Norwegian Dream’s arrival time in Bermuda on Tuesday has been delayed from 11:30 a.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m.
Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas did not make its scheduled stop in Bermuda on Monday and planned to postpone the call until Tuesday.
On Sunday, Princess canceled the Caribbean Princess’ call in Bermuda, sending the ship straight to San Juan instead.
The National Hurricane Center said that Bertha, which is blowing winds of about 75 miles per hour, was about 75 miles from Bermuda on Monday morning, and that its center was supposed to pass just east of Bermuda on its course.
Beyond the wind and three to five inches of rain, the NHC said that large swells and high surf were expected to affect Bermuda over the next couple of days.
